2 Phoenix to Bozeman via Texas
Long haul – Phoenix to the Gulf Coast and up to Bozeman. Enjoyed hiking, biking, Old Settlers Music Festival.
We got chased out of the White Mountains, north of Phoenix by snow – so boogied off to Texas. Palo Duro Canyon, SUDAN, Old Settler’s Music Festival. Then we explored as we headed North.

May 11 thru May 15, 2017 Bozeman!!! Guess we were so busy playing I didn’t take any pictures. We found Heidi and Greg’s apartment easily – the blooming tulips and pots ready to be planted were a dead giveaway. They gave us the official parking spot for our guest quarter – perfect. Lots of good…
May 10, 2017 Left beautiful Hogan Luce and headed for Laurel. Nice visit with Kirk and Dori – we got a tour of the house. Had dinner and visited a brew pub. And …forced Justin and Cherish to do a speed clean so we could check out their new place – they have done tons…
May 9, 2017 Another pretty morning. Rick went for a run and I road biked toward Themopolis. Rick picked me up enroute. We stopped at Thermopolis for a soak in the free hot pools. Felt good – sort of a mini-yellowstone. Although they say they are the worlds largest hot spring – I wonder what…
May 8, 2017 Stopped by the Lander Aquatic center again for ½ hour of swimming and another shower. Then on to Riverton for some café wi-fi and a movie. Big city day! Camped at Tough Creek State Park. Nice enough campground. The host and one other trailer in the entire park. We felt a bit…

May 5 to May 6, 2017 Wanting a break from the heat we headed UP to Flaming Gorge Utah. Cinco de Mayo so we stopped for lunch at Plaza Mexicana in Vernal, UT. It had good reviews but I found it a bit heavy on the fat. Ricks mole was ok – not up to…
May 4, 2017 Left Dead Horse point around noon, stopping at Koppelli Trail – but it was too hot and we were too tired to try out these epic mountain bike trails – another trip. So onto Highline State Park, NW of Loma, Utah. Nice park in a shady grove of trees. The shade was…
May 2, 2017 thru May 3, 2017 Pulled up stakes in Willow Springs and moved to Dead Horse Point State Park. First though we went to Sand Flats Recreation Area where we rode the Slick Rock Trails. This is the classic Moab Slick rock. Red and mainly slick rock with only a few patches of…
April 29, 2017 thru May 2, 2017 Breakfast with Mick and Linda in Durango – then on to Mesa Verde. Drove into the park (Lauri’s pass sure is handy for quick National Park visits) and checked out a couple overlooks. We did the official Balcony house tour. Fascinating. The people lived above on the Mesa…
