Pastures CG, Orford, NH

October 8 – 9, 2019

Sun in the forecast and we position ourselves to ride the Green Woodlands Mountain Bike trails Emily told us about.  No camping at the trails so we spend the night at Pastures CG.  Déjà vu – turns out we stayed there in 2011 when we did our White Mountains bike trip with Tom and Shelley.  The disco ball was still hanging in the pavilion.  We were much tougher then.  I was glad for the van with a heater that cranks.

Some van chores in the AM.  Rick took advantage of the big utility sink to clean the Weber Q and he dried off the awning.  I did some inside cleaning.

From Pastures CG we went to the Green Woodlands Mountain Bike Trails.  Built by the private Green Woodlands Foundation they consist of 50 miles of mountain bike and ski trails – over half machine built single track.  This trip we have been riding on mainly multi use hiking trails so it was a treat to get on some flowy single track.  I could ride most of them.  A couple switch backs were too sharp for me to ride and I walked up a couple of the steeper grades.  Nice trails.  Loved the creative rock stacking done by the trailbuilder.
