Left Turquoise Trail RV Park.  I got some antibiotics at Pineridge Medical and Surgical Urgent Care, then off to Oak Flats trailhead, off of 337, south of I40.  We accidentally crashed a private memorial service.  The group had rented the group picnic site were we parked.  I was awakened from my nap by a knock on the van.  We were about to be locked in.  Guess it was a good thing I was sick and stayed behind!  Sorry to miss the biking though.  Rick said the trails were great.  Alternating between flowey, smooth and rocky, barely ridable.  Later Rick saw the hike-a- bike trail, called Bear Scat/Poker Chip, was rated black diamond – so he felt better.  Pushed on after Rick’s bike ride.  Boondocking with expansive views in the pretty Chihuahuan desert landscape, at San Lorenzo Canyon out side of Lemitar, NM.

After a leisurely morning Rick goes for a run, checking out the San Lorenzo Canyon road on foot.  Back for a prescribed AWS hill interval, with poles,  workout.  We then drive as far as we dare up the wash towards the canyon, park and hike 5 miles round trip exploring the lower canyon.  Beautiful area!  Worth coming back someday to explore the upper canyon.  Enough of a hike for a recovering me.  We look for a new campsite up the main road, and get slotty in the van.  A No Trespassing sign saved us from going farther than we should have.

End up camping back where we had spent the first night.
